Well today was the first "after school" rugby training. Given the goings on at the school I must say that I was pleased to have seven interested pupils out there in the cold giving their best for an hour.

I wasn't aware, until today that my planned ambition to attact some attention to the wonderfull game of rugby league, clashed with the school trails for the volley ball team and also training for the innebandy team (that's floor ball to those who live outside scandinavia)

Nevertheless, seven boys showed up and had a great time throwing themselves and a ball around. On one hand it was better to be dealing with small number. I was able to give many instructions and go through lots of exercises. A lot of fun was had by all. They understood the concept of the game pretty quickly so we were able to finish of with around 10 mins of full contact. I got good feedback and it seems that there's interest to continue.

Thanks to all the guys who were there today. I hope it won't be too long before we get together again. biggrin.gif

A shame there wasn't more, but that's a very good start in my opinion. And if those seven enjoyed it they might bring their friends next time. Keep up the good work mate.

That is fantastic news mate, even though you only had 7 participants. The way I see it, it is always great to try teach the sport to few numbers at a time, because kids at this age will tell their friends about the rules themselves. I can prove this (well I can at my school) because there are kids here who have never played, watched or even touched a ball, but still know the basic rules.

Good luck and hopefully interest will grow!
