Let introduce myself,
Im Steve Clayton a memeber of South Humber Rabbitohs here in Lincolnshire we were formed last year by an ex player of yours by the name of Nath price-salah, We entered the Midland Merit League last year for the very first time and came away winners of the league and grand final, so therefore i was wondering what your take would be on a north /south challenge on the 28th April 07, we are willing to travel south for the game for a weekend of rugby, fun and a little bit of drinking.

Please contact me @ruggerblue_15@msn.com

Stormlord - March 1, 2007 03:50 PM (GMT)
I passed Nathan's email on to Browny. The game sounds like a winner, and I'm sure Paul will get in touch with you.

Its a bit f*cking harsh to have a sniper at the games though.. that target centers on the opposition's head no wonder you won the league!

rabbitoh - March 5, 2007 07:57 PM (GMT)

Hopefully we'll be able to feature this game on Last Tackle - any budding writers out there?!

Stormlord - March 6, 2007 03:18 PM (GMT)
Fork is our media manager so it should be him. However, I understand that Nathan is going to target Fork with his trademark cheapshots so Fork'll be in hospital....

Jay - March 6, 2007 03:30 PM (GMT)
I can imagine the headline... "Fork under the Knife" :)

Stormlord - March 6, 2007 04:03 PM (GMT)
Or "Fork scoops just desserts!"

folk Nath is not going to be there because he's so afraid, He's gone and emigrated to Aus.

How about "folk makes a 3 prong attack"

or "The rabbitohs have spring in there step"

or "The storm calmed by the Rabbitohs"

Here's a shout for you guys...

How about you call the game "The LastTackle.com Challenge"?

We could do build up features like interviews with players etc, put the report and pictures on the Last Tackle website etc.

We could also design you a match programme.

Thoughts?

rabbitoh - March 11, 2007 05:31 PM (GMT)
WANNA SPONSOR US FOR TRAINING SHIRTS JAY ???????

WILL CONTACT SL STORM ABOUT IT

Jay - March 11, 2007 06:41 PM (GMT)

Jay - March 12, 2007 10:38 PM (GMT)
That's great news.

If the game is marketed intensively as "The LastTackle.com Challenge" then I'd be delighted.

What would you be looking for us to provide in return?

tim2 - March 15, 2007 10:18 AM (GMT)
Hi

Tim Fellows here, Midlands Merit League organiser.

I have got agreement for the RFL to purchase a trophy for this event. I hope to get it ordered this week, but I need to know whether to have it posted to South Humber or South London (in advance, I'm not making assumptions about who will win!). Either way, I need a postal address.

I will try to get down there but I can't guarantee it.

Can you decide between yourselves who will be responsible for the trophy?

I assume S London will provide a referee. Let me know if you have any problems gettng one.

rabbitoh - March 15, 2007 06:00 PM (GMT)
tim send it to south london storm, paul brown tell him its for the rabs v storm lasttackle.com challenge

regards steve clayton

Jay - March 15, 2007 07:15 PM (GMT)
Can't wait for this game now!

Will be a great occasion I'm sure. Last Tackle will obviously be looking for weekly build up to the game, so we can get as much publicity as possible.

If someone from each club could email me, that'd be great. I can then liaise with you as to what I want per week from you. A menu will be added to Last Tackle entitled "challenge" which will contain every feature article we do :)

The Last Tackle National Challenge
South London Storm have been asked to participate in the LastTackle.com National Challenge match to be played on the 5th May.

The match will be between the South London Storm ‘A’ team and the South Humber Rabbitohs who won the Northern equivalent of the London Amateur Rugby League title won by South London Storm ‘A’ last year.

With the first team able to take their Southern crown onwards to a national play offs the route was not able to be taken by the ‘A’ team as no national play offs existed. Thanks to work from Lasttackle.com and the committees of both the Storm and especially the Rabbitohs the game will now go ahead at Storm park on Saturday 5th May.

“There was a gap in the fixtures and it seemed like an opportunity we could not and should not miss.” Commented Storm Chairman Paul Brown. “The guys put a lot of effort and hard work into the title last year and to be given a chance to pit yourselves against the best from the North was a chance we could not pass up. It will be great also to begin what will hopefully be a successful partnership with both the Rabbitohs and Lasttackle.com.”

Lasttackle.com will be sponsoring the game as their first sponsorship event in London but are very keen to make the event a real success and with a trophy on offer at the end they hope it will also become an annual event.

“Last Tackle is a dedicated Rugby League news website which covers Super League, the NRL, National Leagues and the development of the game at amateur and international levels. It is run on an entirely non-profit basis, and aims to become the number one Rugby League website in the UK.

”We are continually looking to raise awareness of the site, and we feel that sponsoring the Storm-Rabbitohs match as the LastTackle.com Challenge will provide just the publicity we need.” Commented spokesman James Gordon.

With pre season already underway and huge turnouts from the Juniors and the Seniors Storm will be hoping to take last seasons performances and spirit onwards to this season.

The main season kicks off on 14th April against West London for the first team and the week after will see the first match for both sides as the first team take on St Albans and the 'A' side take on the newly promoted London Griffins.

Can I point out that it is the MIDLANDS Merit League, nothing to do with the North, which I believe is somewhere near Newcastle.

Can someone give me a mailing address for South London Storm so I can have the trophy delivered.

Jay - March 16, 2007 01:59 PM (GMT)
I've emailed both Paul and Steve.

It looks like I'm going to be coming down to London for the game :)

Tim.. sorry bout that.. am aware but the article is written and sent out mostly to the local media in South London and so thought the "North" was a better way to go to try and drum up the interest there.. quite nice to have London V The North etc even if not 100% true (it will be a shock for most on here to learn that some of what I write is not 100% true thanks for outing me on this one Tim  :P ) also doesnt sound so national without mentioning north v south so to stir that up down here thought it may help..

and anyway you have quite a few clubs from north of sheffield.. thats good enough for me :P
