BULLDOG - October 25, 2007 03:01 PM (GMT)
Born in Samoan played for Samoan. Now in th Great Britain's squad is that rigth??
Maur ie Fa'asavalu is in the GB squad but what about a young player from Britain, Is this the start of pushing out more young british talent out of the game and into union

Don't forget New Zealand, cannot make his mind up. Mark you can now qualify for the Kangaroos
TheReferee - October 26, 2007 06:19 PM (GMT)
I understand they are naturalising the whole Aussie team next week.
TheReferee - October 26, 2007 06:21 PM (GMT)
Something about coming from British bloodlines in the last couple of hundred years.
The Saint - October 26, 2007 09:59 PM (GMT)
would u prefer to play against him or with him? he is qualified to play for britain.
remember HENRY PAUL capped by the new zealand rugby league team then went over to the pish side of rugby and played for the super england. :D

1. Yes i would like to play with him BUT he is Samoan not Britain
2. Henry Paul was and is form New Zealand and still should have not played for England.
3. You play for one country and you have made your mind up and can not play for an other country and it dose not matter if you change sport.
It is GREAT BRITAIN not great samoan or great new zealand and so on let not push more of RL young gun's out of the game and into union.
KEEP GREAT BRITAIN AS GREAT BRITAIN :) :) :)

Can`t wait to see him in a GB shirt for the 2nd time on Saturday. If we`d have more British or Irish quality players then may be he may not have got in.
:P :P :P :P

You are missing the point.
By playing hem you are stoping more British qualiy player coming up.
One of them, then one lest British player in league and one more push into union.
Oh yes you are Leeds fan, that is super league only as all super league club are!!!

not all players who change allegence get selected, look at Michael Whithers!
If British players are good enough then they get selected, at club or International
level,NOT just SUPER LEAGUE

No the spelling of right is wrong
mightyducks - November 4, 2007 09:16 PM (GMT)
Think about the New Zealand Rugby Union team. It is full of Fijian's and the likes and nobody says a word. It is harder in league where there are only the major 3 teams GB, Aussies and the Kiwi's for somebody with the talents of Maurie to showcase them to the world.
The problem I feel lies in the fact that there are several very good players for the GB pack. Some people are out of form but then he hasn't played well for GB. So stuck between a rock and a hard place.
TheReferee - November 5, 2007 12:46 PM (GMT)
Keep the GB team British not Oh I know where it is so I will play for it. If this is the case then all Aussies can play for Britain except native Aboriginis, there forefathers were all bloody prisoners from Mother Britain.
POHM as in Pommie= Prisoner of Her/His Majesty

Congrats to Scotland in qualifying for the World Cup in 2008,and to Ireland.
N Z have been the second best team in the world for a long time, because of its pool of players from th South Pacific islands, come the World Cup and playing for their native islands NZ will not be as strong.
BULLDOG - November 8, 2007 08:12 PM (GMT)
With Great Britain to play there last match as Great Britain this saturday who will Maur ie Fa'asaualu play for now. England, Scotland, Wales or Ha how about Ireland, or maybe he playfor his home country SAMOA !!!!!!!!!!!!!
:ph43r:
mightyducks - November 10, 2007 11:02 AM (GMT)
Seeing as he has played for GB does that allow he to play for samoa or does he have to pick one of the home nations to play for?
Good Old Boy - November 17, 2007 06:04 PM (GMT)
He has already pledged alliegence to England!

GB did not play their last game on Saturday, they played their last game in this country. The Lions future tours will be under the GB banner.
The Saint - November 19, 2007 09:43 AM (GMT)
yeah you can say about maurie. And who he is going to play for now whether it is England,Ireland, scotland or Wales. Correct me if im wrong, but am i wright in saying the whole of the GB playing team was from England? Therefore Maurie is aligible to play for england. Who is going to be the England head coach for the world cup? Is Tony Smith? At the end of the season Stevo said he is full time GB coach.......
